As reported earlier this week, the City of Welland has changed on some of its ward boundaries ahead of the 2026 municipal election.
The new boundaries come after an extensive review, which examined population growth throughout the city.
While on a map of the wards some areas are bigger than others geographically, Mayor Frank Campion says that population is the biggest factor.
Campion says North Welland is an area that's seen a lot of growth in the last few years, while Dain City is also growing quite quickly.
Another review is planned before the 2034 election to ensure fair representation continues as Welland grows.
