Communities and schools across Canada are gearing up for Terry Fox runs this Sunday, ready to add funds to the ever-growing tally for cancer research.
Terry's siblings, including his brother Fred, are keeping his legacy alive, crossing the country, promoting the 45th Anniversary of the Marathon of Hope.
Fred says the Terry Fox Foundation has raised well over 900-million dollars and they could hit the 1 Billion mark this year. But he adds even more important than that is the impact that money has had on cancer research in Canada.
Locally, there are a number of runs - including in St. Catharines where Giant FM has entered a team under the name of Giant Knockerz in support of morning show host Darlene Check, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2024.
