Montebello Park was a hub of activity this weekend as St. Catharines celebrated its 150th anniversary.
Festivities were held there Saturday afternoon, with free food, giveaways, live entertainment, and a 150th Cake display - with members of council leading the crowd in singing Happy Birthday to the city.
When discussing what he loves about St. Catharines, Mayor Mat Siscoe referenced the Folk Arts Festival that just started and being able to see the growing cultural diversity within the city.
He also talked about his favourite personal memory - when a big life moment became forever linked with a quintessential St. Catharines experience.
Siscoe said he's looking forward to seeing what the next 150 years bring, citing a renewal of industry and jobs in the city.
