Six Nations Tourism is celebrating a major achievement after being recognized with the Indigenous Tourism Award at the recent Tourism Ontario Summit.
We spoke with Jacquie Jamieson, Senior Manager of Tourism and Community Development, about the significance of the win.
A key part of the award submission was a video showcasing several of Six Nations Tourism’s partners. Jamieson highlighted one of those partnerships and how it helped shine a positive light on the work being done at Six Nations Tourism.
While the team is still riding high from the recent recognition, more celebrations may be on the horizon.
Ultimately, the goal of Six Nations Tourism is to welcome visitors into the community and share everything it has to offer. Jamieson hopes people will take them up on the invitation.
The award comes at an exciting time for Six Nations Tourism, which is preparing to open a new building by the end of March.
Jamieson says the team is eager to showcase the award in their new space and continue expanding tourism programming in the community.
