What's Good in Niagara? Rush’s return with drummer Anika Nilles ‘A Chance to Celebrate,’ says expert

For the first time in a decade, Rush will be headed on the road across North America as part of their 'Fifty Something' tour.

While this will be Rush's 26th tour, it will be the band's first without St. Catharines native Neil Peart - widely regarded as one of the greatest to ever sit behind a drum kit. The band has not played since Peart's passing in early 2020.

For this tour, German drummer Anika Nilles will be on the drums, someone that frontman Geddy Lee and guitarist Alex Lifeson speak very highly of.

Neil Peart Memorial Committee member David DeRocco says it's a great chance for her pay tribute to Peart.

DeRocco says while many didn't expect the band to tour again without Peart, he feels it's an opportunity for Lee and Lifeson to celebrate Rush with their dedicated fans of the last five decades.

Between June and September, the tour will visit Toronto New York City, Cleveland, Los Angeles, Chicago, Texas, and Mexico.

DeRocco says the two shows in Toronto will be must-see for any fans.

While the tour doesn't start until next year, DeRocco adds that he wouldn't be surprised to see more dates being added given the immense popularity of the band.
