The Niagara River Lions are teaming with Interval House of Hamilton to bring new programs to the region, with the goal of teaching young athletes about respect, healthy relationships and leadership.
River Lions Manager of Business Operations Tyler Vincent says this won't be exclusive to just basketball either.
The team is also working with Gillian’s Place and Birchway Niagara, who will help lead the programs on the ground.
Vincent says it's important for the River Lions to work to make a meaningful impact in their community.
The programs, Coaching Boys into Men (CBIM) and Coaching Leadership Equity and Respect (CLEAR), also have support from the provincial government as part of a $1.4-billion investment.
