A local girl who passed away Christmas 2023 will have a legacy that will last for years to come.
Port Colborne’s Kiesha Embrey will have her name on a room at the Ronald McDonald House in Hamilton, thanks to fundraising work by her mother Tammy and this weekend's Keisha's Crusade event.
Tammy says the fundraiser has moved to Port Colborne from Hamilton this year.
Tammy says seeing the support to have Keisha's memory honoured has been touching.
Sponsorship for the room costs $5,000 per year, with the money going towards families that may not be able to afford to stay there otherwise. Tammy says they’re trying to raise $20,000 this year.
Saturday event is an 80s themed dance with a number of raffle prizes available including helicopter tours, IceDogs and Bulldogs OHL games, and a 65 inch TV up for grabs.
