A community hub in Port Colborne celebrated the launch of a new service for local residents this weekend.
Saturday morning, Port Cares held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the opening of a greenhouse at their Reach Out Centre on Nickel St.
Meagan Wormald, Port Cares Services Manager, says the greenhouse will allow the centre to grow for the community.
That said, Executive Director Chandra Hardeen says the purpose is about more than just sustaining their food bank supply.
Hardeen said funding and support for greenhouse construction came from Jungbunzlauer and The Canadian Tilling Company, among others.
