For over 25 years, the Niagara Community Foundation has been helping turn generosity into lasting impact across the region.
This year marks a major milestone for the organization, as it has now surpassed $100 million raised since its inception, supporting charities and causes right across Niagara.
At the heart of the Foundation’s work is a unique approach to philanthropy, one that focuses less on telling donors where to give, and more on helping them support what matters most to them. That could mean food security, mental health supports, housing, healthcare, or arts and culture.
Niagara Community Foundation Executive Director Bryan Rose explains how that model works.
Rose says that flexibility has helped the Foundation connect with donors at every level, from major legacy gifts to everyday residents giving what they can.
And while economic pressures have made things more challenging in recent years, he says Niagara’s culture of generosity hasn’t disappeared - it’s simply evolved.
Rose says giving back has always been part of Niagara’s identity.
For the Niagara Community Foundation, the goal remains the same: Strengthening Niagara today, and for generations to come.
