A Niagara author's book available to the world, nearly three decades after starting it.
Gary Stickles, who authored Purging of Paradise, has seen his debut novel picked up by UK publisher Pegasus as it's hit shelves in North America and Europe.
Stickles says the book was started once summer when he was in university, but didn't get finished until a few years ago.
Set in Hawaii, the book follows ex-cop turned private investigator Eric Wakefield after a string of gruesome murders shakes the island to its core.
Stickles says after almost three decades of writing, he knew that eventually he had to tell himself the book was done.
Stickles, who is originally from Welland and now lives in Fonthill, says he plans on writing more novels following Eric Wakefield.
Purging of Paradise is available at Indigo locations across Canada, Barnes & Noble in the US, W.H. Smith in the UK and Amazon internationally.
