Niagara's hospitals will soon have state-of-the-art CT scanners across the region - as Niagara Health is upgrading existing equipment.
Director of Diagnostic Imaging Janice Feather says some of the older machines are due for an upgrade.
In total, four machines will be replaced over the next 12 months.
Feather says one has already arrived, and it's caused quite a bit of excitement within Niagara Health.
As the first hospital in Canada to receive this next-generation CT technology, Niagara Health says this will result in access to faster, safer and more accurate diagnostic imaging.
