With tourism season ramping up in Niagara, a local MPP wants to see more GO Trains coming to the region.
Niagara Falls MPP Wayne Gates says now that June is here, he was hoping to see more GO Trains coming to Niagara, especially with the World Cup expected to bring thousands to Toronto.
Gates, who has been a longtime advocate of more train service to Niagara, says it's something that should've happened a long time ago.
Gates adds that more trains would reduce congestion on highways locally, and that while progress has been made in regards to GO service locally, more can be done.
During the FIFA World Cup, Niagara Parks is hosting a FIFA Fan Festival, with large screens airing games throughout the tournament.
