A St. Catharines man is preparing to take on a 100-kilometre charity walk along the Welland Canal in support of Parkinson Canada.
Bob McNamara will set out May 30th through June 1st, covering roughly 33 kilometres per day while camping along the trail, raising money in honour of his sister who lives with Parkinson’s disease.
McNamara says the cause is personal.
McNamara says the walk builds off years of hiking, now turned into a community-backed fundraiser with support from local businesses and donors.
He explains how the three-day walk will be broken up.
Donations can be made online through Parkinson Canada, with all funds supporting programs and research through the organization’s SuperWalk campaign.
