As we head into the final month of the year, Niagara College is continuing to mourn the loss of Jackie Robarts - the school's third ever President.
Robarts was influential in her role, as she was the first woman to lead a college in Ontario, having done so at Niagara from 1978 to 1990.
Michelle Pugh of the Niagara College Retirees Association says she remembers being a student and seeing Robarts lead.

Pugh adds that Robarts was never shy about walking the halls with students during her time as President, which she feels started a tradition that's still seen to this day.

Robarts legacy is continuing to live on, as the school as set up a scholarship fund in her name. You can find a donation link at the college's website.
