The Greater Ontario Hockey League is taking another step to strengthen player development.
The league has been approved to adopt the same playing rules used by the Ontario Hockey League, creating a more seamless transition for players, coaches and officials moving to the next level.
GOHL Commissioner Craig Spada says the change is a major milestone that brings greater stability to the game while reinforcing the league's role as the OHL's official development partner.
To Spada, the league is more than just about hockey.
The GOHL says it will also continue emphasizing player safety through equipment standards and fighting regulations while maintaining the physical, competitive nature of junior hockey.
