While no FIFA World Cup games will be played in the Niagara Region this summer, Niagara Falls is still offering an experience of the tournament unlike any other.
Niagara Parks is hosting a FIFA Fan Zone from June 11th to July 19th at Queen Victoria Park, featuring things like outdoor viewing parties and lighting up Niagara Falls based on the teams playing.
CEO of Niagara Parks David Adames says the partnership just makes sense, given how multicultural the tourism is in the area.
During the final weekend of the World Cup, the travelling Canada Celebrates Caravan will stop in Niagara as well, which Adames says will just add to the experience.
The free fan experience is expected to draw thousands to the area during the World Cup, all with the iconic Niagara Falls as the backdrop.
