The City of St. Catharines is moving forward with plans to revitalize four neighbourhood parks, Shauna Park, Guy Road Park, Barley Drive Park, and Joseph L. McCaffery Park beginning in 2026.
Upgrades being considered include new playgrounds, multi-use courts, and a variety of refreshed amenities.
Residents are invited to learn more and provide input at a Public Information Centre Thursday from 2 to 6 p.m., at the Kiwanis Aquatics Centre.
Landscape Architect/Planner with the city of St. Catharines, Morgan McAvoy, stresses the importance of community feedback.
McAvoy says those who use the park are the ones who can provide the best sense of what can be added.
With more people accessing the spaces, it's important that community voices are heard.
Concept plans and an online feedback form will also be available on the City’s engagement page.
The planned upgrades reflect the City’s commitment to creating accessible and inclusive parks, backed by a $2-million investment and a policy that ensures playgrounds have firm, stable surfaces.
