What's Good in Niagara? 55,000+ steps to raise awareness for mental health

Greg and his son Aaron, who often joins him on his walks.

Greg McPherson is walking from thousands and thousands of steps in the next few weeks, all to  raise money and awareness for mental health and the drug crisis.

In 2019, McPherson lost his son Aric to the drug crisis, and two years later Aric’s close friend Madeleine took her own life as well.

He says he’s done a number of long walks, including from Niagara to Ottawa, and is now doing a series of walks to raise awareness.

Two of the walks are here in Niagara, with one Friday and one on Sunday. McPherson says he's aiming for about 55,000 steps each day.

His series of walks wraps up on August 31st in Ottawa, which is also International Overdose Awareness Day.
