As Team Canada gets set for its first of three pre-tournament matchups for the World Juniors tonight, the team will first have a practice at The Gale Centre in Niagara Falls.
The team has been practicing here since Saturday, as it works on cutting down its 27-man roster in time for the tournament opener on Boxing Day.
These practices in Niagara are open to the public, and Head Coach Dale Hunter says it's been fantastic to see so much support.
Yesterday's practice saw nearly 1000 students from across the region watching players such as Gavin McKenna, the player many believe will go first overall in the 2026 NHL Entry Draft.
Hunter says staying in Niagara has been good for the team.
On the ice, many are fighting for positions on the roster, but in net - three goalies will make the team. Last year's starter, Carter George, has been impressive thus far in camp, but Hunter says there's plenty of depth in that position if needed.
Tonight's pre-tournament game against Sweden gets underway at 7:00pm.
