Two men facing combined 28 charges after drug arrest in St. Catharines

Niagara Regional Police have laid multiple charges following a drug and weapons investigation in St. Catharines.

On Monday, police saw a man taking part in suspected drug transactions with several pedestrians. Police recognized the individual as Patrick Roy, who was wanted on an outstanding warrant.

When officers attempted to arrest Roy, police say he became assaultive and tried to reach for a firearm being restrained. During the arrest, a bag he was carrying fell to the ground and was picked up by another man, who fled the area.

That individual was later arrested at a residence on Seneca Street. A search of a nearby yard uncovered 12 individually packaged bags of suspected fentanyl, oxycodone, ecstasy, and methadone.

Roy is facing 21 drug and weapon-related charges, while 30-year-old Dustin Cichocki of St. Catharines has been charged with seven offences.
