The Ontario government is investing over $620,000 through the Fire Protection Grant to support 10 municipal fire services across Niagara, with funding aimed at expanding cancer prevention initiatives and improving responses to lithium-ion battery incidents.
The announcement was made at Wainfleet Fire and Emergency Services Station 3, alongside local and provincial officials.
Funding will support eligible projects such as protective equipment, specialized response tools, and minor infrastructure upgrades including improved broadband connectivity.
Allocations range from $29,000 to more than $119,000 depending on size, with all Niagara municipalities receiving a share.
