14 trucks taken out of service as a result of QEW blitz
Police services from Niagara, Halton, Hamilton, along with the OPP and the Ministry of Transportation, recently teamed up to target commercial trucks avoiding the Lincoln Inspection Station on the QEW.
A total of 35 vehicles were inspected. Of those, 14 were taken out of service due to serious safety violations.
Officers also seized two sets of licence plates and laid 22 charges.
Offences included failure to complete required daily inspections and issues with vehicle registration.
