Niagara Regional Police are investigating an attempted robbery connected to a Facebook Marketplace sale in downtown St. Catharines.
Police say the incident happened just before 10:00pm Tuesday near Church and Market streets, when victims became suspicious while trying to buy an iPhone and stayed inside their vehicle.
Officers located and arrested a 19-year-old St. Catharines man a short distance away, who now faces multiple charges including robbery and weapons offences.
Police are asking nearby residents and businesses to review surveillance footage and contact investigators if they captured the incident.
