Niagara-on-the-Lake is rolling out its new Urban Speed Limit Policy following Council approval in November.
The policy sets 40 kilometres per hour as the default speed on all Town-owned urban local roads, while keeping a 30 kilometre per hour limit permanently in the Chautauqua neighbourhood.
The change supports the Town’s Vision Zero commitment to improve road safety and reduce serious injuries.
New signage will be installed in phases, with enforcement beginning alongside Niagara Regional Police.
