St. Catharines MPP Jennie Stevens is pushing for stronger recognition of Remembrance Day in Ontario.
Her newly introduced Remembrance Day Observance Act, 2025 would require every school to host an in-person ceremony on November 11 and ensure students learn about both the historic and current contributions of Canadian and Indigenous veterans.
The bill also calls for most workplaces to pause operations between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., giving workers the opportunity to attend local ceremonies.
