Major infrastructure work coming to Clifton Hill in January

The City of Niagara Falls is advising residents, businesses, and visitors of upcoming infrastructure and utility work along Clifton Hill and Oneida Lane to support the installation of new Smart Pole technology.

Work is scheduled to begin the week of January 12, 2026, and continue through March Break, staged from an approved area within the HOCO parking lot.

During construction, one lane of traffic will be temporarily closed during the day with traffic control in place, while pedestrian access will be maintained, businesses will remain open, and trenches will be restored daily.

Additional work such as cable and pole installation will follow with less disruption, with the project expected to be completed by mid-to-late spring, weather permitting.
