Louise Arbour will be Canada's new Governor General.
Arbour, chosen by Prime Minister Mark Carney, will come to the job after a long and distinguished career in both public institutions and the law, both national and international: including as former justice of the Supreme Court.
She will replace Mary Simon as Governor General in early June.
