Niagara Emergency Medical Services has officially appointed Karen Lutz-Graul as the permanent Director of Emergency Services/EMS Chief for Niagara Region, effective September 29.
Lutz-Graul has been serving as Acting Chief for the past two months and previously held the position of Deputy Chief of EMS Operations since 2020.
A member of Niagara EMS since 1991, she began her career as a Primary Care Paramedic with the Niagara-on-the-Lake Ambulance Service before moving into progressively senior roles.
With more than 35 years of EMS experience, Lutz-Graul brings proven leadership and operational expertise to the role.
