The IceDogs continue to bolster their lineup in advance of Friday's OHL trade deadline, acquiring Haoxi (Simon) Wang from Oshawa. In return, the Generals receive Artem Frolov and three picks, 3rd, 4th and 6th round selections.
It's the second "D" trade for General Manager Frank Evola in the week after getting Jakub Chromiak from Kitchener. Wang was a second round selection to the San Jose Sharks, 33rd overall in the 2025 NHL Draft.
At 6'5" and 223lbs, Wang has recorded 2 goals and added 11 assists in 28 games. A year ago he participated in 21 playoff games for the Generals as Oshawa captured the Eastern Conference championship.
Wang will make his Meridian Centre debut on Thursday January 15th as the IceDogs host Guelph.
