Fort Erie is moving ahead with plans for a Community Health Hub as part of the Reimagining Douglas Memorial Initiative.
Town Council has endorsed, in principle, a phased model focused on primary and community care.
Council has approved up to $118,000 for the next phase, including developing the service model, finding partners and funding, reviewing potential sites and preparing a business case.
The initiative comes as Fort Erie faces population growth, pressure on primary care and the planned 2028 closure of the Douglas Memorial site and Urgent Care Centre.
The Town says a health hub could improve access to local care and help reduce pressure on emergency departments.
