The Canada Revenue Agency says it's owed $10-billion in COVID-related benefits sent to ineligible recipients.
The Agency says it has recouped about $4 billion so far...but 10 billion is outstanding.
Most of that money was given under the Canadian emergency response benefit (CERB) or Canada recovery benefit, the latter a $2000 per month payment for those forced to stop working during the pandemic who couldn't get EI.
The CRA says sensitive to the financial pressures facing Canadians but it will take action against those trying to avoid repayment.
