The Welland Jackfish announced that Field Manager Brian Essery will remain at the helm through the 2028 season, signing a three-year contract extension.
Essery, who became the team’s first manager in 2019, has guided the Jackfish to winning records in all six of his seasons, including three straight IBL Pennants and two league championships.
Capping off 2025 with another title, Essery also earned IBL Field Manager of the Year honours.
His overall record with the Fish now stands at 159-75, solidifying his reputation as one of the league’s most successful skippers.
