The IceDogs won a second straight in a 3 in 3 OHL weekend, after a 4-1 win over Kingston at the Meridian Centre. A perfect weekend will require a Sunday road win in Brampton.
The ream's third win in a row began with a Ryeth Smith goal, his second in as many nights, at 3:05 of the opening period. Vladislav Yermolenko stopped all 5 shots, while Niagara managed a total of 10.
Riley Patterson fourth of year in period two made it a two goal lead before Kingston cut into the margin 49 seconds later. The IceDogs would survive over 7 minutes of penalty-kill in a second where they were outshot 14-13.
In the final twenty, Patterson's second of the game and Hayden Reid's empty netter closed out the scoring. 30-30 was the final shot count.
The Sunday trip to take on the Steelheads begins with the pre-game at 1:45 on New Country 89.1.
