One of Niagara’s spookiest spots is being featured in a book - and the author wants some local stories to include.
K.G. Miceli is an author from Ontario that specializes in writing and documenting experiences from haunted areas across the province, and is currently working on a book about the Screaming Tunnel in Niagara Falls.
Miceli says she wants to hear other people’s stories from the tunnel, as it's one of the most common areas that gets brought up when talking about haunted locations in Ontario.
The Screaming Tunnel is a small limestone tunnel, running underneath what once was a Grand Trunk Railway line in the northwest corner of Niagara Falls. Local lore claims the tunnel is haunted by a young woman whose clothing had caught on fire, before dying in the tunnel.
The site, which was used as a set during David Cronenberg's 1983 film The Dead Zone, is popular among both residents and visitors to the area.
Miceli herself says she noticed some paranormal activity when visiting late at night.
