Six tree species available for free giveaway
The City of Welland is marking Earth Day 2025 with a free tree giveaway, a city-wide clean-up, and an Earth Day Extravaganza at the Welland Farmers Market.
Residents can register for one of six tree species starting March 31 online or April 1 in person.
Six tree species are available, each with designated pickup dates during the Welland Farmers Market:
- Saturday, April 12: red maple, white pine, tulip tree
- Saturday, April 19: sugar maple, white spruce, redbud tree
The clean-up event happens April 19, with bags available at the Farmers Market.
That same day, families can enjoy eco-friendly activities and displays at the Earth Day Extravaganza.
