West Lincoln is getting a helping hand to preserve a piece of its history.
The Township has received nearly $8,900 from the Ontario Genealogical Society's Rehabilitation and Restoration Fund to restore about 15 to 20 headstones at Merritt Settlement Cemetery.
Mayor Cheryl Ganann says the project will help protect the community's heritage while ensuring the cemetery remains a place of remembrance for generations to come.
Township staff say the work will honour the families who helped build West Lincoln while making the historic site safer and more accessible for visitors.
