Niagara Regional Police say an investigation by the Internet Child Exploitation Unit has resulted in two arrests connected to historical child sexual exploitation cases.
The investigation, which began in May, focused on child sexual abuse material and led to the identification of a suspect.
Further inquiries uncovered additional evidence and multiple victims, with offences dating back as far as 2007.
As a result, police arrested 49-year-old Justin Murray Wayne Lee of Welland and 49-year-old Thalia Rachelle Hiscoe of Wallaceburg.
Lee has been charged with sexual assault, sexual interference, making child pornography, and possession of child pornography. Hiscoe faces charges of sexual assault and sexual interference.
Detectives believe there may be other victims and encourage anyone with information to come forward.
