Niagara Regional Chair Bob Gale says this year’s budget reduces the regional tax levy increase from 6.98% to 6.30%.
He says council worked to keep the increase as low as possible as many residents continue to feel financial pressure.
The budget includes $2.84 million in regional savings, along with $850,000 in efficiencies identified by Niagara Regional Police.
Gale says the changes are meant to ease the burden on families and businesses across Niagara.
