More than 700 trees are going into the ground in Smithville this weekend.
West Lincoln and the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority are working together to plant 708 trees along Twenty Mile Creek.
The project will help with flood mitigation while adding tree cover and native habitat.
Volunteers can take part Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon behind the Creek View Drive playground.
No experience is necessary, and the NPCA will provide the tools and guidance.
Anyone interested in helping is asked to register by email before the event.
