NRPS bringing back Citizen Police Academy for second year

NRPS looking to build on successful launch in 2024

The Niagara Regional Police Service is bringing back its Citizen Police Academy for a second year, continuing efforts to strengthen community ties and foster transparency in policing.

After a successful launch in 2024, the 2025 edition of the Academy will offer residents an even deeper dive into modern policing in Niagara.

From traffic enforcement and investigations to tactical operations, participants will engage in interactive sessions led by police officers and civilian experts.

The free, nine-week program begins in September and runs Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. NRPS notes that it's not police training - it’s an opportunity for the public to gain insight into local law enforcement and build connections.

Applicants must be 18+, pass a background check, and commit to attending all sessions. Applications are due by 12:00pm on June 5th.
