NPD calls on Ford government to restore 24/7 urgent care in south Niagara

Motion brought forward to commit to fully funding vital health care sites

Ontario NDP Leader Marit Stiles is introducing an opposition day motion aimed at reinforcing Ontario’s healthcare system and economy in light of potential fallout from U.S. tariffs proposed by Donald Trump.

The motion calls on the Ford government to treat vital health care infrastructure as nation-building projects and to commit to fully funding them in the 2025 provincial budget.

It also urges the restoration of 24/7 emergency and urgent care services at Welland Hospital, Douglas Memorial in Fort Erie, and Port Colborne General Hospital-services that have been scaled back in recent years.
