NOTL offering expanded garbage pickup for flood-affected residents

MBC News file photo

Niagara-on-the-Lake is offering residents several options to get rid of flood-related waste as cleanup continues.

Residents with large items or large piles of flood waste can register for a special curbside pickup.

Registration is open until noon Friday, August 14, and can be done through the Town or online.

For smaller amounts, residents can put up to five bags of flood-related waste at the curb on their regular collection day this week, August 10 to 14.

The Town is also accepting flood-damaged construction and renovation materials at its Operations Yard on Four Mile Creek Road from August 12 to 14, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Regular garbage collection resumes next week, with the usual two-bag limit plus up to three additional bags of flood-related waste.

The Town says these services are specifically for waste caused by the recent flooding.
