
For the second year in a row, the Niagara River Lions are kings of the Canadian Elite Basketball League.
Niagara, who won their first championship in franchise history last year, have repeated as champions in 2025 with a 79-73 win over the Calgary Surge.
The River Lions started Championship Weekend off with a victory over the Scarborough Shooting Stars in the Eastern Conference Finals on Friday, before toppling Calgary on Sunday evening.
For the second year in a row, Khalil Ahmad was named Finals MVP - as he's now hit five-straight playoff game-winning shots for Niagara, dating back to the start of the 2024 playoffs.
