Niagara Health has launched a new Emergency Department Ambassador role at the Marotta Family Hospital to support patients and families in the waiting room.
The pilot program aims to improve communication and enhance safety during high-demand periods.
Holly Trasmundi, a seasoned personal support worker, is the first to take on the role, offering guidance and reassurance to those waiting.
She will work closely with clinical staff to flag concerns and explain emergency processes to reduce anxiety.
