Niagara Falls Hospital has earned national recognition for its stroke care, receiving the Stroke Distinction from Accreditation Canada.
The hospital underwent an in-depth review in May, with its acute stroke program meeting rigorous national standards.
As Niagara’s District Stroke Centre, the hospital plays a key role in stroke prevention, emergency treatment, and patient recovery.
It was among several hospitals in Southern Ontario to receive the distinction, alongside Hotel Dieu Shaver in St. Catharines and facilities in Hamilton and Waterloo.
Niagara Health plans to expand its stroke services with the new South Niagara Hospital, expected to open in 2028.
