Niagara EMS has officially opened its new Prince Charles Station in Welland, marking the first milestone in the service’s 10-year Facilities Master Plan.
The station at 345 Prince Charles Drive is designed to better position paramedics where they’re needed, while giving crews modern and functional space to support emergency response.
The plan uses a hub-and-spoke model, with larger EMS hubs supported by strategically located stations across Niagara, as demand for emergency services continues to grow and the population ages.
The new station was created by repurposing the former Prince Charles Fire Station, making use of existing public infrastructure while Niagara moves toward purpose-built EMS facilities in the future.
