Niagara Regional Police have made an arrest in connection with a sexual assault investigation linked to a former daycare in Welland.
The investigation began in August 2024, with detectives from the Child Abuse Unit taking over the case.
Police say a suspect was identified through a DNA warrant, leading to the arrest of 61-year-old Juan Carlos Castillo-Fuenmayor of Mississauga on April 30.
He faces multiple charges, including sexual assault, sexual interference and making sexually explicit material available to a child.
Investigators believe there may be more victims and are asking anyone with information to contact police.
