Regenerative farming model the new norm for Lincoln farmers
For The Good Ground Natural Farm, farming is about more than producing food, it's about building a stronger connection between people, animals and the land.
Mike and Nicole began their farming story in 2017, first operating Providence Poultry before discovering the possibilities of regenerative agriculture.
Inspired by new ideas about natural farming, they began experimenting with raising pigs in a way that mimicked their natural environment.
That experience became a turning point.
Seeing the impact on both the quality of the food and the health of the land, the couple began transitioning toward a regenerative model focused on healthy soil, sustainable practices and community connection.
Today, The Good Ground Natural Farm continues to grow, with livestock, vegetables and a mission to show what agriculture can look like when farmers work with nature instead of against it.
The farm says it is just getting started in its goal of producing good food while caring for the land for generations to come.
