Clandestine drug lab discovered in Niagara Falls

Niagara Regional Police were called to a commercial plaza near Portage Road and Colborne Street in Niagara Falls after a business reported an unusual odour.

Just after noon on Saturday, August 30, the Niagara Falls Fire Department detected high levels of volatile organic compounds, which led to the discovery of what appeared to be a clandestine drug lab in an adjacent unit.

On Sunday, August 31, detectives executed a search warrant at the business and a related vehicle, seizing $18,000 in crystal methamphetamine, $8,400 in crack cocaine, $7,300 in cocaine, $160 in MDMA, and more than $10,500 in cash.

On Wednesday, September 3, police arrested and charged 32-year-old Kristopher Burnett-Ackerman of Niagara Falls with multiple drug-related offences.
