Welland Fire and Emergency Services has wrapped up a prosecution over serious Fire Code violations at an East Main Street address.
The property owner was fined $22,000 plus court costs after firefighters found critical fire safety systems not working due to disconnected hydro service, putting residents at risk.
Inspectors later confirmed required repairs were not completed by the deadline, leading to the conviction.
